I am a youth worker at Community Action Youth Service, and I run a group for young mothers called “Little Beginnings”. Recently our group attended the art studio of Heart & Soul Sisters for a closed group art therapy session. Our clients all enjoyed the session and created beautiful art pieces that they could take home to their families. The session was an opportunity for our young mothers to connect, share their experiences, participate in a mindful activity and learn new, healthy stress related activities.

Both Natalie & Angel had gentle, calming manners making everyone feel comfortable and supported throughout the process regardless of their skill level. I would defiantly welcome more group sessions with our young mothers group and would recommend art classes to anyone of any age or gender.

Since 2019 Browns Plains State High School has developed a strong positive partnership with Angel and Nat from Heart & Soul Sisters Creative Experiences. In this time Angel and Nat have delivered a number of various Art Therapy sessions to targeted student groups. The Art Therapy sessions created a positive, fun and inclusive space that allowed our students to breakdown social barriers, engage and connect with their peers. Feedback from the students indicated an improvement in self-confidence, self - efficiency and a sense of connectedness.

During this partnership Heart & Soul Sisters Creative Experiences have put their artistic skills to work and beautified a number of male and female toilet blocks to create a canvas of positivity and inspiration. Angel and Nat have also played a vital role in the school’s annual R U OK? Day celebrations with their facilitation and design process and carrying out the completions of whole school murals. The development and collaboration of the school mural each year brings more and more staff and students together and has become one of the highlights of the school calendar.

Angel and Nat’s attention to detail, creative approach and positive interaction with students and staff makes working with them seamless.
